Bureaucratic corporate jerkoffs

So I just finished my interview with the head of the Engineering department, a tall mustachioed schmuck wearing a Tommy Bahama wannabe shirt. In summary, I was told that he'd love to give me the opportunity, but that I make too much money for him to put me in that position. How much less would I have to make? Oh, about $7000 a year. There's just no way I can make less money. I'm just not going to do it.

And that's the way the meeting ended. With him saying that everyone deserves a fair shake but that he can't move me in the job grade I currently hold.

Fuck him.

At this point, I'm disgusted with corporate culture as a whole. I've been bounced around as an IT resource for six years now, always having to worry about layoffs and outsourcing and relocation. I thought I loved this place. In fact, when I transitioned from EDS to Textron, I took an eleven grand paycut just to be badged as a Textron employee. Textron is thanking me by politely kicking my ass to another company. There's no other position I want to perform in this place. I know what I know, and I'm sticking to my guns on it. I refuse to compromise just to stay with the company. I'm just going to let CSC come in and make me a job offer.

Maybe I'll get another job...
