pony-car madness

I'm a HUGE fan of Ford Mustangs. Used to own a classic once upon a time. The latest iteration, however, has my mouth watering, despite the threat of five-buck-a-gallon gas on the horizon.

I'm also a huge fan of Chip Foose, whose car designs truly harken back to the realm of classic hot-rods.

Well this is Chip's new 'stang.

HOT. Too bad there aren't any engine shots. And no, do not read this as my giving up hope on a 2006 Shelby GT500.

Office peeve

One of the DB developers here has this kind of annoying thing. He's a nice enough guy, pretty competent with the numbers. Terrible teeth, but that's beside the point.

When he gets a little overloaded, like frustrated or whatnot, instead of what most people would do, sigh or something, he says, "Wheeeeeeee!" Even that might, I stress might, be acceptable, but he has to do it in this sort of falsetto voice.

"Wheeeeeee!"

"Mike, we need the data cubes for Quality by the ten-thirty meeting."

"Wheeeeeee!"

The tech/temp on the help desk, Greg, who sounds verrrrry much like South Park's Mr. Mackey (m'kay?).

The guy is semi-competent in his ability to debug basic WinXP issues, but he's a total dolt. Gawd help him when we start talking about foodie stuff. He's a total baloney and fritos kind of guy. Never tries any of the more adventurous gourmet Rob and I tote into the department. He fakes interest. Badly.

So I'm taking something out of the microwave a few minutes ago, and Greg walks up, takes a gander at my bowl. "Hey, what'cha got there? Looks really interesting."

"That's oatmeal, Greg."

"Oh. Yeah. Oatmeal, m'kay."
