the signoff from the company
Jul. 19th, 2006 09:25 amSo I get an email this morning from my corporate HR director. This is the woman that's been running down the legitimate way I can reapply for this job I want at my former employer. She's told me to go ahead and apply for the position. Either today or tomorrow she has a meeting with Mr. Big Bad HR Guy himself, with the intent purpose of clearing up this issue. I like that a lot.
Brazened by this, I took a huge step and sent a message to the person I would be answering to locally, the VP of finance. I expressed great interest in the job, how qualified I was, yada yada yada, but in particular since I was already an employee with the outsourcer, I would be the perfect candidate to have to deal with them on a regular basis. Not pure bullshit, but I played it up. She knows who I am. She saw me during the disaster recovery. She knows how I got totally screwed when I was outsourced.
Hopefully, I'll know something today or tomorrow. Unbelievably, my toughest hurdles are still ahead of me. I have to convince the CIO of this division that I'm qualified enough (even though I hear there are no applicants as of yet), and I have to get by the dumbest (and I do mean dumbest) of all HR recruiters you've ever seen. Seriously, she has trouble working her mouse much less filing through an applicant's list of qualifications.
