Over-engineering playtime

I've got a project on the burner right now. Lately, getting the major work done around Casa de Pingüino has been hampered by this ridiculous intrusion of work into my personal time. In other words, I'm awash in boring spreadsheet data during the early day, then the managers start calling me for emergencies by late afternoon. That would be fine, if it weren't for my having a life and all. Seriously, it's like I have two different two workdays in one twenty-four period. Hasn't been as bad this week, but it's still hounding me.

I digress.

House projects. Mostly outside work. You know, replace the patio, build a new deck, new landscaping, all things left from the K. But the first project in queue? Well, here's a hint:



That's right. The Penguin won't settle for your average pre-packaged mega-playset. No, siree. There's got to be some serious planning and design. I have a particular theme I'm working towards (known to me and only me). The kids are aware I'm drawing plans. There are some rather intriguing...uhm...options...yes, options, of my own design and manufacture. That soon will be revealed, too. Actual framing will probably begin this weekend. Nice to have a Home Depot a whole four blocks from the house these days.

Nothing much else happening, other than this AWESOME weather. The little thunder-busters of two nights ago gave way to some pretty spectacular blue heavens today. The temps are in the sixties. St Paddy's day will be most enjoyable tomorrow. Now if I can just keep that promise of showing up at trp's house.
