Is it safe to come out now?

Wow. That's a pretty amazing amount of drama to fit into an 18 hour day. The roof is patched. I'm not happy with the slightly mismatched color, but what are you gonna do? The van's windows are restored. I've patched up the house windows. Anything else was gravy.

As we were cleaning up in the yard, we kept seeing bits of glass. Everywhere. It was the safety glass from the van. Thousands of glass granules spread through the yard, little glistening pebbles of Honda OEM. Anyone have a clue how I'll get rid of that? I thought about a shop-vac, but I keep imagining I'll look like Rick Moranis in Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, peering through the lawn with a magnifying glass, trying to vacuum up every last shard. I need a Hoover for St. Aug grass.

And I missed a crucial day of work, as I'm preparing for a long weekend off for Carnival. I may work Thursday, which I wasn't, just to make up the time. That's crap, really, because I wanted to be up by Napoleon early for the three parades Thursday night. Everybody say "Muses!".

Shit. I'm going to bed.

Don't even go there. I was having a helluva time keeping the neighborhood kids out of the debris. I mean, really, there were bits of odd things everywhere. I'm waiting to find little asbestos treasures hidden in their rooms.
