But for god's sake, impeach Cheney first, will ya?

President Bush lets Scooter Libby lick his balls.

Nice. Very nice. Please give me any reason at all why Congress will not proceed with blowing open the entire administration? Please, prove to me why I should have a single ounce of respect for George W. Bush? This is so beyond what Nixon's boys did. I mean, serously, Nixon had his freak on, but this den of scoundrels? This sickens me and insults not only the basic tenets our forefathers sought to uphold, but disrespects every American who believes in our government.

I think I'm going to be sick.

the office of the president should be one of honor. why should he ever needs his ass covered? I understand global politics is dirty business now. it's reality. does not make it right.

I agree with you, I really do. And I really hope (as I did in 2003), that these situations will help people wake up and realize that they need to pay attention to who/what they vote for. :) I feel betrayed and hijacked by my own party, and it sucks balls. But I am not going to walk away, I'm fighting to try to take it back, make things right. I don't know when the GOP started going the way of the looney birds, but somewhere, sense was lost. Sadly, it's the party line that changed, not my heart, and all too many Republicans feel that way. I can tell you when it happened for me, just before Katrina. Mid 2005. And I've been active ever since (well, except for this timing in moving, pain in my butt!) working to get my voice heard at the very least.

*sigh*

I think there is more truth in your statement than you realize, now that it is sinking in. Dunno if you intended it, but it's heavy. :D

well at least you're not a blind bushite like so many other republicans. p.s. he is not even the biggest problem imho.

I think the biggest problem right now is money. the hearts of men are so easily corrupted. we take the money out of the equation in politics and your pretty much only left with power. and power struggles, to me, are a much easier beast to harness. this whole campaign funding and corporate lobbying of our government is a fracking travesty. OUR GOVERNMENT OFFICES ARE BASICALLY FOR SALE TO THE HIGHEST BIDDERS. excuse the caps. it's not meant as a yell. but the people should be governing the people. not the interests of the fortune 500.

*yay*! No, I'm not... and the ONLY reason I voted for him in 2004 is because I couldn't violate my father's honor and duty to this country by voting for Kerry, who spit upon my father upon his return in 1975. Sad but true. I couldn't do it, and I am not happy about the betrayal he's put us through. I was a little bit more naive 4 years ago. 30 was a shitty year. :P

You art a smart cookie, my dear! You, once again, hit the nail on the head. You can see that particular point rearing it's ugly skull in the push for this horrible immigration reform bill that we just killed (and believe me, I'm ALL for reforming legal immigration and expanding it greatly, but of course, no we can't do that!) - it was all about the cheap labor and corporate greed, and fucking the American citizens that keep this country going.

I've written about 20 letters to officials in the last six weeks... gotten responses on almost all of them too, and my Senator very much heard me. And not just on immigration either, but the Internet Music Murder, all kinds of stuff. It's up to us to get our voices heard... and it's easier now in a state of only 5 million versus 45 million in California. :P

This is also one of the reasons that I think Fred Thompson is the anti-Christ. 17 years lobbying in Washington, only 8 years in the Senate (I can't support Senators for President anyways... in my heart it violates everything the Separation of Powers stands for), and who knows what kind of influence he exercised. I'm sure the dirt-diggers of the 'net will disclose all though.

I've been rather hesitant to lay my hopes at the feet of any single candidate. Mike Huckabee hasn't got the following, and again, a Pastor in the White House? In a theological war with Islam? LOL!!! That's worse than a woman in the White House to them... it's proof we ARE Crusaders. I like Ron Paul, but I don't agree on some of his more 'out there' points. But I've really been supporting Duncan Hunter for years as a Rep. - he was the one I would talk to in SD out there, and he lost everything in the Wildfires and never bitched once. So, that's who I'm watching for. I just know that if we don't vote in the primaries... how can we bitch about the final candidate nominations? :D

Believe it or not, I completely agree with you. There are several things I think we can do to help fix things, but in your points before, you've spoken to why we *can't* do that.

There are several people that I know that are way past the revolt point. One of them has 'disappeared' off the 'net, even. So yeah...

I have to say, at the very least... I still believe. At least in principle. I'm pretty disillusioned, already, but I believe. For now.

I'll probably lose you here, but..

as long as we're talking elections, I have a really dark view on where this country is heading. I'll spare you the details at this point. my point is, this view has prompted me to stop voting as of the last mayoral elections of new orleans. I'm not saying other should stop. I'm just saying that to me, voting says, "I believe in this system. here is the person for the job." and I don't believe in this system anymore. I believe in the idea that america was initially but this is not that. we've really messed things up on a local to global level and I don't know if there's even a hard fix outside of a complete revolt. things get really complicated for me at this point. I mean it's complicated times. but I think this is a good stopping point for me before I get tagged as a terrorist or something...
