Quick hits from the farmer's market
Apr. 2nd, 2005 12:09 pmToday's bounty included:
-Louisiana strawberries: the sweetest ones Heather had, thankyouverymuch. God bless the fig connection.
-savory artichoke, mushroom and fontina cheese tart
-savory artichoke, onion and goat cheese brioche
-tangerine pound cake, all from La Spiga bakery
-hot bean tamales and fresh tortilla chips from the tamale guys
-artichoke and olive stuffed bread from that cute kinky-haired blonde in the corner booth
-St. Thomas hot sauce from God's Vineyard project. Didn't know God liked it quite that hot. Their samples were on little cups of the BEST red beans and rice.
-finally the piece de resistance, Three Brothers Farm fig conserve, made just two days ago. Heaven in a jar. *sigh*
I would take pictures, but most of the take was either eaten at the market by the posse I took, or by me for lunch. Sorry. Still have three pints of berries, though, not to mention another three I already had.

Goodbye rasta-boy
Apr. 2nd, 2005 04:43 pmMy landlord just gave the greatest news. My next-door neighbor is moving out!!! Yeah!
No more 24 television eminating from his bedroom.
No more yelling at 3 am between him and the roommate of the week.
No more reggae blasting out of the front room all night on Saturdays.
No more drug deals in front of the house.
No more thugs visiting at odd hours.
*sigh*
I'm terribly content today.
