more overheard in NY
Aug. 4th, 2006 09:56 amI'm an avid, if not rabid, fan of Overheard in New York. This may be my new favorite conversation from there.
Shit like that never gets old. I love New Yorkers.
Back to work.
Guy: How do you get to Astor Place?
Old man: You go up 2 blocks, make a left, then go fuck yourself.
Shit like that never gets old. I love New Yorkers.
Back to work.

A car thief set himself on fire after attempting to re-enact a scene from the television show CSI, according to Covington Police Chief Jack West.
West said that the thief, identified as 20-year-old Joe Brumfield, had stolen a car earlier on Wednesday and then tried to set it on fire in an effort to keep it from being traced back to him.
West said Brumfield was inspired by the show CSI, but that in his attempted to douse the front seat with gasoline, he also got some on his arms and when he lit a match, both he and the car went up in flames.
Brumfield was in the LSU Medical Center in Bogalusa with second-degree burns to his arms, before being transferred to the Baton Rouge burn center. He will be placed under arrest for auto theft upon his release.
The incident began when Covington Police got a call from a man who reported his car stolen from in front of his home in the 700 block of North Monroe Street.
At the same time that police were searching for the stolen car, the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s office reported that they had found an abandoned vehicle that had been burned on the side of Highway 59 near Lowe Davis Road.
A later report from the medical center in Bogalusa showed that Brumfield was being treated there for his injuries.
What a dumbass. A Darwin award nominee if I've ever heard one.
