Big rain falling on the factory right now. I feel bad for the drought-stricken areas of the country right now, as they don't have the benefit of afternoon squalls to dump vast amounts of water on the land. And that silly weatherman said it wouldn't rain today.

Screw 'em. I'm getting my resume out in the open. As soon as I've got another job, I'm calling their bluff and launching legal action against them. There's grounds for a class-action from the two hundred plus employees that got screwed by these jackasses. This week I found out five of them were being laid off. And guess what? They still can't go back to the old company! Assholes.

The kids start school on Monday. Tracey got interviewed by NPR this week about it. Hasn't made the air yet. Day before was the main part of the story, but the editor liked the parent angle so much, they parsed it into another segment for a later broadcast. I'm guessing that'll hit the air on Monday. I'll link it when it happens.

There's a good story about the Murphy Oil spill, too, by the same reporter, that airs today.

Plus there's a local story about a guy from Chalmette who's taking a FEMA trailer to the White House to cook dinner for the President and plead for more help for the Gulf Coast. There's even a documentary being made about the fellow (see the trailer in the lower lefthand side.) What's funny about it to me is that I worked for this cat long ago in college when I was a manager at Pizza Hut. Small world. He's a total Chalmatian, too. "Wher'yat, cap?"

We can now do video clips from youtube. [livejournal.com profile] molly_girl put me onto that, but she gets a bigger kudo for finding this mashup gem.
