Honest Abe

I finally made the time to see one.

What really astounds me is the level of detail. I mean, he can't spend gobs of time spraying it up, right? But he takes the time for little things, like overspraying the old tags to get a full "canvas". This one was big, too. As tall as me. Interesting side point: you can see the flood water line around Abe's waist.

It was just too cool. I'll soon catch the others. One sad note, though. I was told, but this is unconfirmed, that the ice box kite picture was painted over.

So awesome! Thanks for posting.

I'll bet the time is really in the stencil. Spraying probably goes quick: background to foreground.

Yeah, though I haven't confirmed. For sure, I know of five:
-gas mask brass band (over-painted by owner)
-girl on life ring (defaced with bright orange spray paint)
-turtle (door stolen)
-boy with trumpet (door stolen)
-rat (siding stolen)

I think their days are numbered. I have to tell you, the work is pretty amazing up close. It'll never happen, but I'd love to see him in action. There so much fine detail in the stencil, I can't imagine how he frames it up. And you know he's got to be fast about it and not screwing around taking his sweet-ass time.

I'm going to put some more in the next couple of weeks. We've got to get you here to see a few.

Whoops. Take it back. The trumpeter was on siding as well. In any case, it's supposedly gone.
